Mental Health Toolbox

September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month

Mental health matters every day, yet too often it is pushed aside until a crisis appears. This September, during Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, we are introducing the C+FS EAP Mental Health Toolbox. This is a simple, practical set of resources to help you care for yourself and those around you. The toolbox is designed to make mental health part of daily life, with small steps that are realistic at both home and work.

You will find daily calendar reminders that you are able to download to your calendar that will place a gentle suggestion on your schedule, encouraging moments of mindfulness, gratitude, and connection. You will also find printable one-pagers, including a September action calendar and a guide on how to support a friend, colleague, or family member when you are worried about their well-being. We are also featuring our “Week of Mindfulness” sessions, a series of five community-led meditations offering guidance and support in building meditation skills.  Each resource is meant to make awareness accessible, something you can glance at quickly and put into practice right away. Finally, you will find a link to register for this month’s featured Webinar, Mental Health Basics.  This webinar is designed to consider common warning signs of distress and explore practical ways to start a supportive conversation, connect someone with resources, and reduce stigma around reaching out for help. Together, we can create a community where no one has to struggle alone.

The goal is not only to raise awareness about suicide prevention, but also to promote everyday mental wellness that helps prevent people from reaching a crisis point. Whether it is taking two minutes to breathe, sending a note of thanks, or learning how to start a caring conversation, these small steps build strength and resilience.

By downloading the reminders or posting the printables, you are helping create a culture that says: “Mental Health is a Priority”. Together, we can reduce stigma, increase support, and save lives, one day and one action at a time
