Grief and Loss Resources

Grief can affect you emotionally and physically, leading to difficulty concentrating, exhaustion, and forgetfulness. If you are feeling overwhelmed by grief or loss, there is free, local help available through C&FS EAP. If you are experiencing a non-emergency concern, call our general number to receive assistance from a Master’s level counselor at anytime. For emergencies, dial 911 directly.

HOSPICE AND PALLIATIVE CARE BUFFALO: links to Community and Individual Grief Supports, including peer led and community led support groups.

ERIE COUNTY PROVIDERS STEP UP: resource through Erie County that provides mental health resources and local hotlines.

ROCHESTER CENTER FOR PET GRIEF AND LOSS: individual and group support for pet grief and loss.

  • Speaking Grief: a public media initiative aimed at creating a more grief-aware society by validating the experience of grievers and helping to guide those who wish to support them.
