Creating a Culture of Care
We are so grateful for your partnership with C+FS Employee Assistance Program. Your decision to offer this benefit sends a powerful message to your employees that their health truly matters. During times when many employees are carrying burdens, both visible and unseen, your support makes a difference. Creating a culture of care, starts with access to support.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a time to reflect on the silent struggles that many people carry and the impact these struggles can have on safety, families, and work. With the support of our partners at C+FS Haven House, our EAP team is here to provide confidential assistance, and pathways to healing for anyone who may be affected by interpersonal violence. Click here to register for our webinar: Safety Without Exceptions: Inclusive Advocacy and Support for Survivors of Domestic Violence.
We also invite you to share our recorded webinar, “Mental Health Basics,” with your employees. This video offers practical ways to understand mental health, and how we can support one another. By sharing this with your workplace, you are opening the door to greater awareness and care, and you are reinforcing the supportive culture that you have already worked so hard to create.
Thank you for your partnership and for partnering with us in this important work. Together, we are creating spaces where employees know they are supported and never alone.
On-the-Job Training Grants Opened September 1, 2025
**Special Webinar for Employers**
The Amherst Chamber of Commerce is excited to share that applications for the NYS Department of Labor–funded On-the-Job Training (OJT) grants opened September 1, 2025. Chamber membership is NOT required. With $400,000 available to support businesses across the eight counties of Western New York, these grants are designed to help businesses invest in their workforce.
OJT grants can provide wage subsidies and funding for skills upgrading and retraining, helping employers offset the costs of developing their teams. By investing in employees, businesses not only strengthen skillsets but also enhance performance, retention, and talent attraction.

Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15th thru October 15th
As Hispanic Heritage Month comes to a close, we take time to celebrate the rich cultures, traditions, and stories that shape and strengthen our communities. This month reminds us of the incredible influence and contributions of Hispanic and Latino people across every aspect of life, including the arts, education, innovation, and community leadership.
In the workplace, it is important that every person feels seen, valued, and respected. When we take time to learn about one another’s cultures and experiences, we expand our understanding and create spaces where people can bring their full selves to their work, enriching our workplaces. Let us carry the spirit of this month forward throughout the year, by continuing to learn from, honor, and celebrate Hispanic and Latino cultures throughout the year. Together, we can build workplaces where everyone feels that they truly belong.

EAP’s Summer 2025 Reset Programming was a Success!
This summer, we were thrilled to partner with Diane Terranova, Health Coach and certified Advanced Gut Health specialist, to provide individualized consultations. We also collaborated with Courtney Moskal, MS, RDN, CDN, who led a complimentary webinar, Prioritizing Your Health and Wellbeing.
In addition to these valuable resources, employees had the opportunity to schedule confidential virtual check-ins with an EAP counselor.
Thank you to everyone who participated—and stay tuned for our upcoming Winter Wellness opportunities!
